SITE 2 - HOARDINGS ON ASHLEY ROAD, CORNER OF STOKES CROFT

ABOVE
These are 1960's ceramic transfer designs, patterns that are everyday and often unconsidered, pleasant trifles that the brain enjoys for the most part subconsciously. Here , we play with perspective to give them an unexpected prominence. The traffic will see them as if the patterns were facing them, though the wall is at an angle... Images that have specific and specified positions for optimal and intended viewing.

BELOW
Here we see the mural as it would appear to the viewer facing the mural face on. Interesting in its own right and messes with your head visually.

Suggestion: Simple patterns are inherently beautiful and often unconsidered, forming a backdrop to our visual amenity.

Justification: Even the most humble ornamentation should be recognised. Massive scale lends power. Perspective tricks add interest.

Note: The pattern image is from a 1960's dinner set pattern. Check out some patterns.

Artist: Chris Chalkley

Note: The idea of suggestions is to get the juices going... Stokes Croft can be a massive outdoor art gallery. all ideas welcome. Gotta be feasible and relatively inexpensive...
