Description : Tiled Section under building which spans the road at the bottom of Stokes Croft. The message written here was recorded 26.01. 2007. There is a case to be put for walls where messages and ideas can be posted by anybody. There are precedents. There is a long tradition of message walls in China, where people could expound philosophy, political ideas, poems etc. There is also a case to be put for walls where tagging is permitted, and walls where street artists can practise their styles, thus embracing the counter-culture and permitting the examination of often radical, but important ideas.
Permission status: This underpass is seriously scruffy.
